I think just lacquer, it brings the grain out more or makes it more visible.I don't want to hide it with stain it really is gorgeous.Not cheap either.
I'll bet! Good veneer is as expensive as 3/4" ply. Kinda crazy the price we pay for beauty.
Your right it was almost as much as the BB ply.I needed around 85 sq ft with a 15% extra 100 sq ft. I'm not veneering the back triangular part of cabinet.I had to cut some costs and it was unecessary.Would have doubled the cost of veneering.As they are corner cabs you won't see that anyway.If I had got the veneer for the whole cabinet would have easily been much more than the ply, probably double.Quote:

I would do clear acrylic over lacquer. its actually hard to find lacquer now and expensive as all get out.
